minutes of April meeting(not ratified until May meeting)

MINUTES OF MEETING
TUESDAY 13TH APRIL 2010
1.PRESENT: John, Pat, Gill, Linda, Janet, Barbara

3.MINUTES OF MARCH MEETING: were read and agreed.
4.MATTERS ARISING:
GATEWAY PROJECT
We decided to plant the following: New Road, Denstone Lane – shrubs
(rhododendron, azalea, flowering current, camellia, forsythia) and
some wild flowers (bluebells, campion, cowslips, poppies). It was
decided we would spend approx £200 and John would purchase the plants.
Gill will speak to Forrestry Commission for advice. She will also
speak to those people who maintain the tubs around the village to see
if they are willing to continue this job. The group will contribute
funds towards the plants. John to speak to Mark Kerrigan about funding.
Planting is to be done before 11th May, if possible.
BEST KEPT VILLAGE to consider entering for 2011.
EASTERN BYPASS – We discussed organising a petition about the road
traffic problems for next month.
VILLAGE DIRECTORY- Quotes to be obtained from Hawksworth printers and
Lavin’s, Uttoxeter.
John to speak to Tony Heritage, Linda to speak to Eddie Bailey about
possible photographs that could be incorporated into a village photo
album.
PUMP AREA – Linda had contacted Dave Scrivens about the pump area but
had not received a reply.
